Berte & Son began in 1979 by John Berte and his son, Jeff, in Livermore, IA. John and Jeff worked together for several years until 1988 when Jeff became sole owner. Jeff was the primary owner until 2014 when his son Matt Berte & son-in-law Austin Vitzthum bought a share of the company. It began as a family company and remains that way today.

Berte & Son has grown significantly since its beginning and continues to build quality custom homes. Our main goal is to build a functional home that will stand the test of time. We strive to do the type of work we would want done on our own personal home.

We have found that an open line of communication is one of the most essential parts of building a home. During the building process you can feel free to call Jeff, Matt, or Austin. We are always available to answer questions or address concerns.
